Good News Everyone! The Forum is LIVE!
Ever wanted a question answered, to discuss the show, or laugh together about the ridiculous choices made by the players in DieFall? Here's your chance to do it!
Hey Guys, Joel here for RunawayRobot.
I've been meaning to make one of these update posts for a while and I'm finally getting to it.
If you haven't noticed, the YouTube side of my content has been pretty stagnant.
It's mostly Dungeons and Dragons and pieces of stream recordings, not really the type of content that I built this channel around.
For those of you that come to this channel and don't know already, I've been streaming on Twitch for the last 6 months and have found it an immensely rewarding experience.
The community we've built there is supportive, growing, and really a lot of fun.
I've been able to become a Twitch Affiliate and am looking forward to the day I can call myself a Twitch Partner.
Currently, with how my life and work schedule works, streaming is an accessible and more interactive way for me to continue making the content I like as well as entertaining people, without taking huge amounts of editing and uploading time.
The ability I have on Twitch to interact with you, the people who actually watch what I do, Live and in real time is incredibly rewarding.
This all being said, I still feel the pull to create content for YouTube, despite the trend YouTube has had over pushing smaller creators to the side.
Does this mean a return to Let's Play type content to the channel?
No, not in the foreseeable future, though that is DEFINITELY something I'd like to strive for if this whole "thing" ever takes off.
Expect the Dungeons and Dragons show videos to continue with some Game Master prep/tips videos appearing more often and I'm hoping to add in the near future, compressed versions of streams in the form of highlights, or compilations, not the full stream just dumped to YouTube.
I'm going to continue streaming on Twitch as much as I physically can, and I'd love if you ALL join me there.
Follow RunawayRobot_ on Twitch.tv, and if you have one, follow me on twitter @RunawayRobotYT for streaming schedule, updates, and nonsense.
Included in all of this is a resurrection of the website, RunawayRobot.tv, where a transcript of this video will be posted in a blog update.
If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment below. I'm more than happy to talk about what's next!
Links will be in the description below, thank you all for your continued support and until next time, Later!
As we come to the end of Spooktober (maybe far less spooky than originally intended... oops) and begin November, there are a couple new things that have happened and some that are coming up!
This month we started what has become DieFall. A Dungeons and Dragons show that's Dungeon Mastered by me! So far we've been able to keep an every Wednesday schedule, and I aim to keep it that way for as long as I have the time and energy.
The show includes Player Characters played by some fellow YouTubers/Streamers and it's been a great time. Check out the playlist below!
The big announcement for the beginning of this month is the 24 Hour Charity Stream for Extra Life happening on November 4th!
I will be streaming from 3am Saturday the 4th to 3am Sunday the 5th for charity. This means that any and all donations (there will be a button) will go to the organization Extra Life and the children's hospitals that they support. I will be raising money specifically for Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, a great healthcare center in my hometown the deserves any help we can give them
So drop in, if the cause resonates with you, give a little. I hope to see you there!
This week will also include more XCOM 2: War of the Chosen (If we survive...) and Alien Isolation on Halloween! Schedule Below:
That's it for now my friends, I hope to see you at the streams!
-Joel
It's time for the scares, frights, and chills you've all been missing!
We've already started this month off with a couple spooky games like Spooky's Jumpscare Mansion and Alien: Isolation (Thanks to Deuzen!!), and there's definitely more to come!
We'll be continuing our Dungeons and Dragons game in addition to the normal XCOM 2: War Of The Chosen stream, for those of you like me who can't handle scary things. At all.
Additionally, through a generous donation from The Couch Bum (check out his channel, he's AWESOME https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCGq_2zPAHGwXz7MJcwCGjlA) we now have facecam!! So watch me be scared shitless all live in HD!
Check out the schedule and I hope to see you there!
We're back!
Hurricane Irma has passed and we're getting back on a regular schedule!
Stream schedule for this week has been posted:
As you can see, there's a couple new things on the schedule. First is Divinity: Original Sin II, we've started a new campaign as a Mystic Barbarian and have already party wiped due to teleporting crocodiles, so come check that out!
The second and biggest announcement this week is the start of a Dungeons and Dragons Live show! If you've played DnD, or want to see what it's about come watch me and 3 friends muddle our way through the world that our DM Zach has created for us. We'll be playing through Roll20.net and the first show is this Thursday at 7pm EDT!
In the YouTube world this week, we'll be finishing Last Day Of June and starting Life Is Strange: Before The Storm, so be looking forward to that!
I'm very glad we're back to a regular schedule, I've missed you all.
-Joel
Hey guys, hurricane Irma is headed in my direction and I'll be evacuating the area. This will cause further delays in video posting as well as stream schedules being affected, see the video here for some detail.
As for what I'll be doing while away, I MAY have the opportunity to stream/record in the location I'm heading to. Quality may suffer due to not being in the studio, but I feel like I would be letting you guys down if I don't at least try! If I'm unable to, I'm sorry, I'll try to get back to a schedule as soon as I can.
I'll be posting updates/schedules to here and Twitter @RunawayRobotGaming, stay tuned my dudes.
-Joel
Good news, everyone! We've released this website in to the wild! Welcome!
The purpose of these semi-weekly updates will be to show what RunawayRobot will be recording, streaming, and scheming for the near and far future!
We'll be posting stream schedules, game releases we're looking at playing, and ambitions for future shows (Dungeons and Dragons fans, we've got special things coming for you!).
These posts should, barring disaster or schedule conflicts (hello Dragon Con!), be posted on Sundays by 10pm EDT.
This week I'm heading to Dragon Con in Atlanta! It should be a great time and any of you there that want to meet me (Joel), you're more than welcome to! I'll be tweeting during the con (@RunawayRobotYT) and wearing this super dope T-Shirt =>
As for other things happening this week, the stream schedule is as follows:
And we're playing Blackwood Crossing!
Life Is Strange: Before The Storm is released 8/31, so I'm hoping we get to it before I have to leave for Atlanta so that there will be episodes released all weekend long!
Otherwise, I'll be back next Tuesday (9/5) and will definitely be streaming that night, more War Of The Chosen!
I think that's everything for this week, more exciting things are coming soon! I honestly can't wait. We're just getting started.
